Facebook advertising in Nigeria has no fixed price list. You choose how much to make available, then Meta’s auction determines what that budget can buy.

Equal budgets do not buy equal outcomes. One campaign may buy video views while another seeks sales enquiries, and even two lead campaigns can produce people of very different quality.

Before choosing a budget, decide what the business can afford to pay for the result it actually needs. A general Facebook ads price cannot answer that question.

Meta doesn’t have a Nigerian price list

What the campaign asks Meta to find changes the outcome.

Meta doesn’t publish one fixed rate for a click, lead or sale in Nigeria. Its advertising cost guide explains that advertisers set budgets and adverts compete in an auction.

You can set a daily budget or a lifetime budget. A daily budget is the average amount you want to spend each day. A lifetime budget covers the full campaign period.

Neither budget promises a certain number of sales. Your result depends on what you ask Meta to find, the people you target, your advert and what happens after the click.

For example, reaching many people may cost less than finding people ready to submit a serious application. A traffic campaign may produce cheap website visits, but those visits are not automatically customers.

Four cost figures answer four different questions

Move from spend to business value.

Ads Manager shows many figures. These five will help you understand cost:

  • CPM: what you paid for 1,000 advert impressions.
  • CPC: the average cost of one link click.
  • Cost per landing-page view: what you paid for a person who clicked and allowed the page to load.
  • Cost per lead: the amount spent divided by the leads recorded.
  • Customer acquisition cost: what you spent to gain an actual customer.

A low cost per click can look good while producing no useful enquiry. A higher cost per lead may be acceptable if those people fit the offer and buy.

The number closest to the real business result deserves the most attention.

Don’t compare figures from different goals as if they are the same. A video view, link click, WhatsApp conversation and purchase answer different questions. Label the result clearly when you discuss cost with your team.

Why the cost changes

There is no fixed national price list.

The result you choose matters. Meta has objectives for results such as awareness, traffic, leads and sales. The system looks for people likely to take the action connected to your choice. Don’t choose traffic and then judge it like a sales campaign.

If you need help choosing an objective, read my guide on how to run Facebook ads in Nigeria.

Your audience and competition matter. Other advertisers may be trying to reach the same people. Costs can change by location, season and demand. A very narrow audience is not always cheaper. It can leave the system with too few people to work with.

Your advert matters. Meta’s auction explanation says the bid, estimated action rate and advert quality affect which advert wins. A clear and relevant advert can compete with an advertiser willing to bid more.

Placement and timing matter. Costs may differ across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. They can rise during busy selling periods. A cheap placement is useful only if it brings the action you need.

What happens after the click matters. A slow page, confusing form or late WhatsApp reply can waste affordable traffic. The advert may bring the right person while the business loses them afterwards.

The offer itself also matters. People may ignore a product when the price, delivery area or useful difference is hidden. A clear offer can help suitable buyers decide faster and help unsuitable people move on without filling the form.

Begin with the value of a customer

How to improve cost without blindly cutting budgetHow to improve cost without blindly cutting budget
Fix the weakest part of the chain.

Don’t start with a round figure simply because it sounds comfortable. Start with the value of the result.

  1. Choose the final result, such as a purchase or qualified enquiry.
  2. Work out the highest amount the business can spend to gain one customer after product and delivery costs.
  3. Check how many suitable leads normally become customers.
  4. Use that information to estimate what one qualified lead can cost.
  5. Give the campaign enough time and money to produce more than one isolated result.
  6. Review sales and lead quality with the platform figures.

Here is a simple example without fixed market prices. If the business can afford to spend a certain amount to gain one customer, and only one out of several qualified leads buys, each lead must cost much less than the full customer amount.

If you don’t know your close rate, start recording it. Increasing the advertising budget will not fix missing sales records.

Start with a test that your business can afford to learn from. Don’t borrow money based on a promise that a certain daily spend will produce sales. No platform can honestly make that promise.

During the test, check technical problems and lead quality. Avoid making large changes after every good or bad day. Record each change, because an account with many unrecorded edits becomes hard to understand.

Review the result with the person who handles sales. Ask which leads understood the offer, which objections appeared often and why suitable people did not buy. This conversation can show whether the next improvement belongs in the advert, the page, the price or the sales reply.

Also include the cost of follow-up. If staff spend many hours calling people who never understood the offer, a low cost per lead may still be expensive for the business.

A cheap result may still be poor value

CPM and CPC help explain delivery and attention. Qualified leads, customers and customer acquisition cost bring the report closer to the business result. Your own sales records will tell you more than any general claim about what Facebook ads cost in Nigeria. If the budget or reporting structure still hides that result, contact me with the figures you currently use.
